Heavy metal isn't for everyone, he was a very talented drummer. Him and his brother formed the band Pantera, they were nominated for grammys.

His brother died even younger, shot to death right in front of him by a mentally ill fan.
 
Late 80s/early 90s was the peak time for rock music, IMO.

It went to shit after Nirvana and never really came back.

From big band to..wtf are they playing today, again?

It was peak for classic metal maybe. Metallica released their best albums during that period too.

I have seen a lot of shit during concerts including "working" at woodstock 99. The Suicidal Tendencies show I saw in a small club blows everything away on the insanity scale.
