I had the privilege of seeing Elvis live and in person, at the Cal Farley Coliseum in Amarillo Texas. He was fat and sweaty, looked like walking death, but still had the pipes. His version of "Bridge over troubled waters" brought the house down.

I saw him doing a sort of televised event once where he was dressed like this. He had a leather jacket on and no shirt. He was sweating through most of it but he looked and sang so good then.

I like Elvis.

The first concert I ever went to was Three Dog Night at the Long Beach Arena in 1972, I was eight years old. I remember seeing a sign advertising Elvis performing the following week.
I didn't go to the show but I remember where I was, as most people do, when I heard the news. I was in the back yard pulling weeds listening to 93 KHJ when the DJ came on and announced it. Seems like it was just yesterday.
