Brunson was a great poker player, but so were many others. Brunson's key contribution was a 1978 book called Super/System, which allowed amateur players to understand how professional players turned poker into a consistently winnable game, rather than just an accasional gambling night.
He didn't inpire the growth of online poker, but online poker, with it's literally pennies stakes, allowed new players to practice his methods while making money instead of losing money.
He called his book "Super/System," but his principles are not a gambling system, any more than learning chess openings, middle game and endgame from the Grandmasters is a system.
