Scott Baio’s wife has been making apologetic phone calls on behalf of her husband after his assumption that his former co-star Erin Moran died due to drug and alcohol abuse. Moran actually died from complications due to her cancer. Now Moran’s brother Tony is fighting back, calling Baio out on Twitter.

TMZ reported Tony calling Baio out as a ‘coward’ and a “piece of sh*t” and attacking the size of Baio’s manhood. He was furious Baio’s wife was the one who contacted him to apologize for her husband and not Baio himself. Even Moran’s cousin Roy went off on Baio, calling him a “d*ck head.” Baio made the accusations in an interview Monday.

Baio was wrong to jump to the assumption that Moran died due to drug abuse and/or alcohol abuse. However, If Moran had a reputation (deservingly) for drug and alcohol abuse, it isn't unreasonable that some may speculate that it contributed to her death. I don't think Baio is a bad person for thinking that Moran's death was related to drugs and alcohol. Maran made her own reputation. That being said, Baio should have been more sensitive given the situation.

To me, what was said could have been a whole lot worse and it would have been had it come from someone who had not known her personally like Scott did. Also with her having such a history, what he put out there wouldn't have sent me over the edge had it been my family that he was speaking of. It wouldn't bother me if something was said about what my dad is guilty of because that right there is just it, he is guilty of it. In my opinion, if a person wants a better song to be sung about themselves, they themselves should try to write better lyrics because they are the only person who can write them.

It seems that whenever someone famous dies too young, it almost always turns out that drug abuse was involved. Apparently. Ms. Moran had a history of drug problems herself.

I think anyone can be forgiven for assuming that drugs has something to do with Ms. Moran's death, until information came out that revealed this to be one of those much-too-rare instances where that wasn't the case.
