**6 COUNTIES IN FLORIDA REPORT IRREGULARITIES FOR REPUBLICAN REGISTRATIONS

Updated: 8:46p.m. ET: Election officials in six Florida counties are investigating what appears to be "hundreds” of cases of suspected voter fraud by a GOP consulting firm that has been paid nearly $3 million by the Republican National Committee to register Republican voters in five key battleground states, state officials tell NBC.

But the veteran GOP consultant, Nathan Sproul, who runs the firm, strongly defended his company's conduct, saying it has rigorous "quality controls" and blamed the alleged fraud on the actions of a few "bad apples," workers who were hired to register Republican voters for $12 an hour and then tried to "cheat the system."

The allegations of suspected voter fraud committed by Strategic Allied Consulting of Tempe, Arizona spread Thursday to counties throughout Florida. At the same time, the Republican National Committee said it had severed its ties to the firm altogether.

"We have heard from supervisors in six counties that they have irregularities in voter registration," said Chris Cate, spokesman for the Florida Department of State, which oversees the state's division of elections. Although local prosecutors are already investigating the firm's conduct, Cate said state officials were also considering turning the matter over to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to determine if there was a pattern of misconduct.

The owner of the firm says he's the victim.:eusa_boohoo:

It would be shocking to see an election were there wasn't GOP voter fraud going on.

Here we go again. Only Republicans deal in voter hanky-panky.

What's the deal? Are these lefty bozos in here...stupid?...disingenuous?...overly partisan?...blind as bats?...other?

Hey, teatards, you're missing the point.

This story if funny because the party that was trying to disenfranchise voters with new anti-fraud legislation is busted doing something they shouldn't.

Rather makes the case for more stringent controls at the polling places. Requiring ID would go along way towards countering efforts you describe.

We need Voter ID!

Why aren't you protesting Canadian laws that require voter ID?

I think we need to cut the GOP a little slack on this one. This is what happens when you hire low wage temp workers to do the footwork. If there are incentives for turning in a lot of registration cards, some people are going to fudge a little to increase their total. And by law, the company that collects all these cards, must go through and weed out the ones that look fraudelant and turn them in to the authority having jurisdiction.

ACORN went through the same thing. I don't know if this company didn't check them before turning them in, but I'm pretty sure they're required to. The point is, GOP officials wouldn't know until the cards were turned in and checked.

This is common to all registration drives. Voter fraud, where the forged card owner actually shows up to vote, is extremely rare.

You seem to have skipped this part of the story...
RNC Drops Voter Sing-Up Group Amid Fraud Charges

When the GOP found out what the group was doing, they dropped them. You're upset because the GOP dropped a group that broke the law?

This is more of a question than an observation. Many of you are far more knowledgeable about this topic than I.
There are serious allegations arising in Florida regarding "suspected" fraudulent voter registrations being submitted by a firm hired by the GOP. The firm was also hired by the Romney campaign. The firm has subsequently been fired by the Florida GOP.
There is now "reported" evidence that the same firm was also hired by the GOP in other so called "battleground" states (Nevada, Colorado).
My question is, there are reports that this same firm was hired by Florida GOP during the Bush/Gore election of 2004. Gore won the popular vote, but Bush won the electoral count. Does anyone think this current debacle in Florida will have an impact on this campaign, or just be brushed away as a non-impact event?

Bush/Gore??? 2000

Wow! I was looking for an answer to a simple question, not a tirade from a right wing wing-nut. Should have known better. C-Ya-bye.
