DIdn't Harry Reid just say not so long ago that regulations do not cost jobs? But yet here is someone saying the Obama administration had them fudge numbers so that it didn't reflect new regulations costing jobs. Uh-Oh!!!

First of all, this is nothing but an accusation that has been made, and we haven't a clue what's actually going on yet.

Second, why do people assume that just because one person makes a passing, generalized comment (in this case Reid) it must be held by every single person of the Democratic persuasion, and to the exact same degree?

    Be serious.

"WASHINGTON -- You hardly ever hear about them but they're one of the most powerful groups in Washington, D.C.

And they're costing the economy nearly $2 trillion a year.

They're federal regulators and they're putting new regulations on everything, from business products to the financial industry to items in your home.

Critics like Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, R-Texas, say America is so over-regulated now that it threatens to kill almost 11.5 million jobs in the private sector.

One example: vehicle manufacturers report regulations requiring new mileage and emissions standards will cost them almost $11 billion every year.

"And they're passing that cost down to their consumers, which will add up to about $1,000 more per car, if not more," said Audrey Jones, assistant director of broadcast services at the Heritage Foundation. "

And how does that equate to "job killing"? The regulations aren't making them produce less cars, which means that they aren't reducing the amount of work that needs to be done. You said yourself, the cost is being passed on to the consumers. Not being offset by labor reductions.

How would you explain what Obama MEANT when he said..

Obama also said that he was instructing his staff to move forward on job-creating initiatives without congressional approval where possible.
The White House announced steps to speed environmental and other regulatory approvals for 14 public works projects across the country."
    http://www.timesonline.com/news/loca...d99374672.html

So IF Obama HAD to instruct his staff to speed up what....???
    "environmental"???
WHY unless "environmental and regulatory approvals where slowing or halting job creation!
