President Obama signed legislation aimed at curbing financial fraud in the mortgage industry including a provision that created an independent panel to investigate the root causes of the nation’s economic downturn back in May of 2009.

Obama also said in his 2012 State Of The Union Address that he would create a commission of 55 lawyers to look into the causes of the mortgage crisis.

So what has been done up to date?

Nothing. Zero. Zip. Nada. He's had time to scout for vacation spots though.

Since May of 2009 nothing has been done, but it sure sounded great when he said it, didn't it????

Looks like the only thing Obama has done is accuse bankers of being greedy and give speeches about how the rich are screwing everyone.

He also promised to help people that were underwater on their mortgages calling it Cramdown. Looks like he didn't do that ether. As a matter of fact he was asked to take this on while the Dems had a majority, but instead Obama wanted to take that on later. Larry Summers, Obama's former economic adviser eventually said that he was not supportive of the idea.

But hey, it sure sounded great when he said it......didn't it?

When you think about it......nobody has really said exactly what caused the financial crisis. Nobody can say exactly what took place.....even though a paper-trail is out there. It should be something that has been investigated but it hasn't. All we know is that banks are bad and deserve to be punished but the actual guilty parties have never been investigated, punished, fined, whatever.

Why is that?

I know, but do you????

Seems all he does is promise this and promise that...

...but Hey, he got Bin Laden, didn't he???

i haven't lost touch with reality. Obama has been nothing but a failure for 4 yrs. why on earth would anyone re elect that???? I am voting out all incumbents and clean house on both sides of the fence. I am obligated to no party affliation, or groups and nor will their gift of gab convience me to vote for them. All incumbents are out of the question. This is the worst administration this country has ever had. And it couldn't be more obvious.

Blaming everyone for what this administration does is an emotional response and does nothing to improve the situation.

Blaming an administration, while ignoring the fact that there are other branches of government, is an emotional response and does nothing to improve the situation.

Voting for a lesser of two evils, just to get rid of an administration you don't like, is an emotional response and does nothing to improve the situation.

Politicians are not gawds, they have to work within our system: given job growth, the market, and the overall sense that Armageddon isn't tomorrow, some credit has to go to Barrack Hussein Obama. And I love seeing these GMC ads on the site, life is good. Well pretty good.

""We cannot walk alone," the preacher cried. "And as we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall always march ahead. We cannot turn back." America, we cannot turn back. Not with so much work to be done. Not with so many children to educate, and so many veterans to care for. Not with an economy to fix and cities to rebuild and farms to save. Not with so many families to protect and so many lives to mend. America, we cannot turn back. We cannot walk alone. At this moment, in this election, we must pledge once more to march into the future. Let us keep that promise - that American promise - and in the words of Scripture hold firmly, without wavering, to the hope that we confess." Barack Obama

Don't worry, the bankers are safe from being brought to task by the scary socialist commie. Lots of people have said exactly what happened but most politicians are either too chicken shit or too in love with the financial sector to do a damned thing. Blame it all on F+F and Barney Frank and get back to your task at hand, making Romney seem like a real human being.

No it's not. An emotional response would be refusing to vote for anyone.

Obama has taken in almost $4 million from the banking and financial sector so far in this campaign. He declared receiving almost $26 million from them in 2008.

But be sure to run right out and vote for him again this time, because he's not like all the other politicians. :lmao:

Hey, you act like it's okay for Obama to ignore the other branches of Government, but not us. How come? Why is that? It's just not fair.

You're too smart to be accused of actually believing that...
And, as Sherlock said: “Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth.”
So....you know what that says about you.

Obama's economic catastrophe is correctly laid at his feet:

….the dramatically larger increase also suggests that part
of the program’s growth is due to conscious
policy choices by this administration
to ease
eligibility rules and expand caseloads….income limits for eligibility have
risen twice as fast as inflation since 2007
and are now roughly 10 percent higher than
they were when Obama took office.

He's gotta go.

Midcan is the only true Obama supporter who's posts are worthy of reading.
I have learned a lot form his/her posts.

However, most I disagree with....but Midcan is a worthy poster in this forum.

If none of the candidates reflect my views, then none of the candidates will receive my vote. No emotion, just logic and reason. An emotional vote is one that's made on the basis of "OMGWTFBBQSAUCE!! If I don't vote for a candidate I don't like then Obama will turn the country into a communist state!!"

Not at all. I'm against Obama every step of the way. He's been just as much of a detriment to the country as Bush was.

"...but Hey, he got Bin Laden, didn't he???"

Without some of those efforts he "inherited" no one would have known then, where BL was. The search for him, in the caverns of mountainous terrain, would still be going on
