Spoken like a hippy who has never been in the military. I have/had several family members in the military and they ALL griped about politicians fucking things up instead of letting the military leaders on the ground deal with things. Ask ANY former military member here they approve of this whether or not they like President Trump.

Handing over the reins is hardly the correct description for what the president has done and is doing. He's appointed a Secretary of Defense he respects and is letting that individual do his job - under the wide directives of the Commander-in-Chief. Mattis, in turn, has let qualified leaders decide the ROEs and what is needed to meet the president's goal of defeating terrorism and protecting the homeland.

One, it was Eisenhower who got us into Vietnam at the behest of the rubber industry.

At the time of The Bay of Pigs, Castro had not yet gained enough power or control to fend off the effort to stop him. I think JFKs decision on this was horrible.
