Queen, I'm not certain how you connect this negatively to the Obama admin, but the article reminds me of an intro to one of Tony Hillerman's books. He tells of attending a Native American conference and asking the leadership if the term "Indian" offended them. The leader of the event smiled and told Hillerman that the name did not offend him or anyone he knew. He was just thankful Columbus wasn't looking for a route to Turkey!

My High School team was the Indians and our colors were red & black. I never thought of the possibility of an insult. Actually, I thought of it as a way to honor our namesake, since nobody assumes the names and characteristics of wimps for team sports. Just the opposite. But then, that was 60 odd years ago.
