How did the researchers and statisticians receive the values? Did the participants themselves “self diagnose” and answer questions - or did the researchers and statisticians contact doctors and therapists? Was there any follow-up to confirm that the responses where accurate? Did each participant actually see a doctor to verify that those who said that they were mentally healthy were actually mentally healthy and that those who said that they were mentally unhealthy were actually mentally unhealthy?
