I don't believe there are any real, dedicated "Bolsheviks", any more than any real, dedicated Nazis. There are, however, people infected with the remnants of very poor ideological concepts. The problem is the refusal to fully explore these old ideas in education, to inoculate youth. It seems that teaching about things becomes confused with teaching to believe them. This is why we can't educated about religions in schools, although we should.

This is a simplistic over-generalization, especially as "leftist" is so ill defined. Many people who identify with 'left' ideas would never sacrifice lives for those preferences. It was extremists who profited from extreme circumstances.
