I have both in my left foot. Any of you have it or had it? Get better? Did you wear a foot/ankle splint? Did it help? Orthotics work? etc. plmk. thanks. I have had it for about 6 months, I'm 42, but overweight. Kevin.

See your doc, and get a referral to a specialist.

And read up online. I had it in my right foot when on airborne status and then had it both feet in Korea when I return to the flagpole at 2X from the in country ROK American Ranger training school. That was rougher than airborne or air assault training, in my opinion.

My feet were on fire.

I have plantar fasciitis in my left foot for over 15 years along with nerve damage between my two middle toes of the same foot due to an injury. My experience is that even with exercise, anything short of surgery is mostly ineffective, and I haven't had surgery so I don't know how effective that is. You should consult an podiatrist or an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in feet.

Plantar Fasciitis sucks big time. I had it last year for about four months. I got it from wearing bad running shoes as I ran on the treadmill at the gym. I bought some Powerstep orthotic shoe inserts for all of my shoes. That helped a great deal and has prevented me from having it strike me again. I also wore a brace at night for those four months. It's weird how it just went away like it came. It was there, and then it was gone. I did continue running the entire time I had it, but I did not push myself as much.

thanks auditor. I need new shoes. I tried regular insoles but my foot kept pooping out of my shoe.

The Powerstep's are great, but they will take some time to work. I would suggest you plan on using them continually even after you heal. You can buy them at most running stores or sporting goods store or order them from Amazon. Orthotic Inserts And Shoe Insoles For Foot Pain Relief - Powerstep Buying them from a running store will cost you around $40 per pair. Amazon has them for around $32. Amazon.com Powerstep Pinnacle Orthotics - M9-9 1 2 or W11-11 1 2 Health Personal Care

You will need to copy and paste the links. When you get them, be certain to remove the inserts that came with your shoe before inserting the Powerstep insert. On dress shoes, you may not have that option, and some dress shoes will not allow enough room to fit your foot in after the insert is added. This is still a much cheaper way to go than full orthodics which can run over $500 and probably will not be any more effective.
