The Department of Homeland Security asked the Pentagon to build 57 miles (92 kilometers) of 18-foot (5.5-meter) fencing, construct and improve roads, and install lighting to support Trump's emergency declaration.

Shanahan "authorized the commander of the US Army Corps of Engineers to begin planning and executing up to $1 billion in support to the Department of Homeland Security and Customs and Border Patrol," a Pentagon statement issued late Monday read.

The acting defense secretary cited a federal law that he said gives the Pentagon broad authority to build infrastructure "across international boundaries of the United States in support of counter-narcotic activities of federal law enforcement agencies."

House Dims will scream and holler but there’s nothing they can do to stop it. I wonder how much $$$$ will be found from other agencies.

The House has already denied the Pentagon request for that money to spend on the wall.

The House controls the purse strings so I'm wondering if there is a work around??

I'm also wondering if the House realizes that over 50% of American want that wall built. We tax payers are sick of spending billions of our tax dollars on illegals and having illegals rape, rob and murder Americans. We are also sick of the fake asylum seekers at the border.

Border Patrol has no place to put these people and have released 100,000 into American city streets. They should have booted them all back to Mexico.

While the House panel may have voted, it is not law. The president has the authority to use excess or unallocated funds as he sees fit.

And no, 50% of the people do not want the wall built. The wall lying Trump first promised his clueless gullible voters was to be a huge beautiful concrete wall from sea to shining sea that Mexico would pay for...His voters do not care if he lied about Mexico paying for it, do not care if now he admits he doesn't mean a concrete wall, do not care if he has realized we could not build a wall along the whole 2000 mile southern border, and is now talking about a tiny 57 mile stretch!! And making up some bullshit about it being a national emergency, even though he has been in office for over 2 years, 2 years with a very strong republican majority congress!!
