You can think what you like.God may indeed care about us, if a human emotion such as care can be used to describe God's ineffably divine essence, but God anticipates everything that happens, as God's omniscience isn't bound by the constraints of time as our limited cognitive abilities are.If you think God does not care you are only fooling yourself. Since I know He rules the hearts of men I believe He does care.
It can, however, be safely assumed that God does not meddle in God's creation until incontrovertible evidence of the contrary arises, and it has not. The idea that God interferes in the physical universe necessarily implies that something is wrong with the universe, which in turn suggests that something is wrong with God for being unable to create an ideal state of existence from the beginning and having to clean up after God's own mistakes. It is illogical.
Anybody who convinces himself or herself that they know what or how God thinks is unfortunately the victim of a self-imposed delusion, since God does not interfere. This includes you, me, and the rest of the posters on this thread. If political opinions cannot be supported without falling back on the supposed support of God, it becomes necessary to reconsider those opinions.
We're entitled to our own opinions, but not our own facts.
