This applies to Oklahoma, the red Republican state. And it makes yet another state where the courts have struck down anti-Gay marriage bans! Over 24 courts, to date, have done so and the trend continues forward. This is a very important ruling as it came from the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals that is one of the Highest Courts next to the U.S. Supreme Court. Continuing to keep bans on same-sex marriage obviously harms Gay and Lesbian families the courts are now ruling up and down the line. Therefore, denying Same-Sex couples the right to marry is obviously Unconstitutional.

Joe. My. God.: BREAKING: Tenth Circuit Court Strikes Down Oklahoma Marriage Ban, Ruling Is Stayed Pending Appeal To SCOTUS

Calm down...your benefits are secure.

Gays are still not allowed to marry in Okahoma..the court immediately stayed its own decision as Oklahoma AG appeals to SCOTUS.

The appellate court in Denver last month also upheld a decision that gay couples have a right to marry in Utah. Gay marriage is on hold in both Utah and Oklahoma while the appeals are being resolved.

Numerous lawsuits against same-sex marriage bans have followed the U.S. Supreme Court decision last year that struck down the Defense of Marriage Act. The Utah ruling was the first at the appellate level since the Supreme Court decision... Appeals court upholds decision voiding Okla. gay marriage ban - themorningcall.com

Oh gosh...

1. Only part of DOMA was struck down in Windsor last year &

2. Windsor avered numerous times that states have the final say on marriage. It was in fact that hinge that they used to strike down part of DOMA. The logic was that under the question of gay marriage..states dominate the fed...& that what states said is the Law in that regard.

It is to gay Americans whose civil liberties are being denied.

And it should be to all Americans as well, where to deny the civil rights of some threatens the civil rights of all.

what? why aren't they called, homosexual Americans?

doesn't sound as pretty?

there isn't anything (gay) about the homosexual movement in this country, as we see from people like you and the op...and I won't ever refer to them as, GAY

more like, MILITANT in ya face constant a victim

go preach to your choir in your chuch

Wrong. That is why the Federal government actually dominates states. If it were not that way Lawrence vs. Texas would not be the law of the land, only it is. That, in itself, proves that Federal law far supersedes state law.

Interesting:

Although the Supreme Court in the Windsor decision expressly avoided any ruling on states’ authority to ban same-sex marriage, federal and state courts have relied heavily on the reasoning that the Court used to invalidate the DOMA provision to nullify such state bans in some two dozen rulings over the past year.

That reasoning contributed to the Tenth Circuit’s rulings striking down, first, the Utah ban, and now, the Oklahoma ban.

Appeals court nullifies another same-sex marriage ban : SCOTUSblog

So now it goes to the Supreme Court. And we shall see...
Yes we shall. In the U.S. Supreme Court ruling of Lawrence vs. Texas, a Majority of Conservatives voted in favor of striking down Sodomy Laws across the nation in their 6-3 decision which affected mainly Gay and Lesbian citizens so yes, we shall see about this as well.
