The Bakken formation is reported to contain 503 BILLION barrels of oil. We get lots of news about the boom in NDak but seldom hear of activities going on in Saskatchewan and Alberta, Canada.

I did a Google Search on the subject and came up with 330,000 results. Why do we hear so little of the Canadian boom? See https://www.google.com/search?q=new...s=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
and

And, where does all that oil go?

I don't have a clue why we get very little coverage of this great news. I can tell you that I talk to a lot of people in the Dakotas and the boom up there is real. Skilled labor is paid great wages and that is filtering down to the less skilled positions.

I wish people would stop quoting the nonsense numbers when the scientists have already ironed this out for the noobs.

USGS Release: 3 to 4.3 Billion Barrels of Technically Recoverable Oil Assessed in North Dakota and Montana’s Bakken Formation—25 Times More Than 1995 Estimate— (4/10/2008 2:25:36 PM)

A 2008 report!!! That's the latest you can find to try to put your own slant on this?

Try https://www.google.com/search?q=ski...10,d.aWM&fp=f541d26e5940a762&biw=1132&bih=714 and learn the truth. Far more than you want us to believe. :eusa_whistle:

Find a more credible scientific organization on the matter of resource estimates, and I'll read it. A random google search doesn't know the quality difference between scientific organizations with decades of experience and a requirement of financial objectivity and companies pimping their acreage to the gullible to make a quick buck. Like those who think there are 500 billion barrels to be produced.
