Every four years I have a larger group of friends at my Presidential Results Party. In that group there are liberal Democrats, Moderate Democrats and Republicans, Religious Right Conservatives, and a large group of Libertarian thinkers that are largely registered Republican. We have lively debate, but mostly get along as we cheer along results while playing pool, darts, cards and watching the news. The past two years have been hard as some want to stay up watching the results that are not coming in as the news guys hold back in order to make more money.
If we are able to get along when that much is at stake, it points to the fact that the country actually gets along quite well even with political differences. Maybe it is just my friends who tend to deal in ideas more than most groups.
Good for you, No1. That is the truth about "tolerance." Ability to maintain civility, even friendship, in the face of differences.

I think we have the new USMB expression.
I can see it across the banner at the top of the screen now.
What needs to be done by the Republicans is to repeat vebatim the words of Dean only changing Republican to Democrat. Let's see if they get criticized!
Criticized isn't the right word. They would be cremated.
