No More Taxes - The Answer, or a Mistake?

Fucking bingo is his name-o.

Also, say hello to a ridiculously fast falling superpower if you get rid of income taxes.
Oh, bullshit.

America became an economic superpower without an income tax and would become even more powerful today if it was done away with.

Wrong.....we didn't become an economic superpower until after WWII....we were solid....before the depression hit....which was eerily similar to our crisis in 2008....We emerged from that depression because of our involvement in the War....Put millions of people to work with good paying jobs....those jobs paid for goods that people needed and wanted, which stimulated NON military businesses....all thanks to that evil government that doesn't create jobs. Eisenhower doubled down with the interstate system, which due to the easy and reliable road system boosted the auto industry and was a boon to businesses who could now easily transport their goods all over the country....once again....all thanks that evil government that doesn't create jobs.

Where does all that money come from to fund those evil government projects that doesn't create jobs?
Wrong again...The industrial revolution made America an economic superpower....Neither WWI nor WWII would have been won without the greatest industrial capacity on the planet.

Gubmint creates nothing, including jobs...The have no money of their own....Everything that they "create" has to be taken from someone else first.

But lolberals like you love visible beneficiaries and invisible casualties.

I support it...I've always wanted to get rid of income taxes and replace witha sales tax....it's the fairest and would bring people together....that's the real threat....liberals dont use the tax code for revenue, but control
That wouldn't stop with a federal sales tax....They'd just raise the sales tax on "incorrect" purchases, like tobacco products.

true but they already do that....my brother owns a liquor store, so Im familiar with "sin" taxes....but it's a much much better system than the crap we have...and they would have to explain that to EVERYONE.....tell black folk you're raising taxes on cheap vodka or cognac or white people on their Jack Daniels and Jim Beam....and they will kick you ass big time......*grin*
Then you should be the first to recognize what a social engineering scam that sales taxes are.

The only fair taxes are like those on fuel, to pay for roads and bridges.

The only truly fair tax is a steeply progressive income tax. It should protect the poor and most of the middle class from any tax and tax the highest income at near 100%.

Better yet, let's make anyone making over a certain amount slaves to less productive citizens. Cut out the middle man, have 'em labor directly for the poor.

You're out of your fucking mind. Marxist nonsense.

If you read about Marx's life, it was actually quite tragic and extremely poverty stricken.

Quite a biased opinion to base an entire economic system around, if you asked me.

Regardless, I do feel compassion towards him and his family.

He wasn't born into poverty. He was born into a wealthy family in Trier. He studied at both the University of Bonn and the University of Berlin. If he ended up poverty stricken, it would because of some version of his own damn central planning philosophies. Screw him and his immoral followers.

What's the problem with that?

That it hurts a bit more psychologically than having the government legally steal from you?

How is a sales tax not stealing from you?

It isn't?

But I would at least prefer to be taxed on what I spend than on what I earn. Feels a little less like stealing to me.

Besides, we've reached a point of Socialism (Eww, I said that bad word) in our economy that there will have to be at least some form of "Government Stealing" to keep things in check.

If one tax is stealing, then all taxes are stealing. It's irrelevant how it's done.

You're right, he definitely wasn't. But ultimately ended up completely broke, and lived a life of tremendous poverty for quite a few years.

He never contributed much to humanity besides his ideals, and practically survived on loans from others while writing.

Maybe his own life example may have had something to do with his beliefs?

We've already tried it and proven it effective. It works.

You're right.

But we can't abandon taxes (or can we?). Like I mentioned earlier, we've reached a level of socialism where we can't really transition out of.

And since socialism itself is a form of "controlled stealing," we're gonna have to go along with it. That said, I'd prefer sales tax to income tax.

Your acceptance of the flawed premise is not anybody's problem but your own.

Really? you think that the interstate road system would have been built by private industry on their own? Free to use for everyone?

The Industrial revolution was not an American only phenomenon. Germany was more advanced than us back then. We were still newcomers....Our big advantage was Natural resources that were unmatched. Greedy men exploited those resources and treated their employees like dirt. It wasn't until industry was so desperate for labor to fill the needs of the military that they would give their left nuts to get people into the factories that our economy grew beyond our wildest expectations.....because people had money to spend...even on trivial shit like Radios, TV's and electric razors.

That's what you don't get. The consumer is business' biggest friend. Who are the consumers, by and large? Employees of other people. To fuck them is to cut your own throat.

Um...The interstate system WAS built by provate contractors.

Doesn't matter....Nobody prospered from the industrial revolution more so than did America...Primarily because we had vastly fewer bureaucratic lampreys sucking the life blood out of the productive.

What you don't get is that gubmint is the consumer's AND business' worst enemy.

Hey, I'm all for a smaller government.

But how do we all of a sudden cut all these (socialist) government programs holding back our economy? Granted, I do believe some of them should stay.

But at least a flat sales tax would bring a little more "fairness" back into the economy.

Oh...my...God

You are out of your fucking mind.

Good luck with all that.

I thought you were joking from your last post.

Since apparently you aren't would you mind giving me an example of you trying it, and the proof you have of it working?

In the mid-'40s the top marginal tax rate was 94%. That led to the best economy America ever has seen. Check the record.

Actually, the American economy stuttered and stalled throughout the 1950's. It wasn't until JFKs tax rates kicked in that the economy thrived.

You're either a looter or a recipient. Either is a waste of oxygen.

How do we all of a sudden set the slaves free and expect them to survive?

Oh Goodie! Something to debate about. Lets see, where shall we begin..

While you are undoubtedly 101% correct that the top tax rate during that time period which you described was in fact 94%, there are a few more little things you forgot to mention.

Lets go back to the Revenue Act of 1942.

While the highest tax rate was 94% for those earning over 200k, the lowest tax rate was 19% for those earning under $2,000.

This is 1942 we're talking about.

The average salary in the 40's was roughly $2,500 a year, putting that person in the 22% tax bracket.

I'm not even mentioning deductions, ect.. And the only reason the government even raised the taxes that high was because of the attacks on Pearl Harbor. Not because it was deemed the "right thing to do."
