While I don't follow the NBA closely, tonight's matchup between the LA Lakers and the Brooklyn Nets is being advertised profusely, but is certain to be a big pile of nothing.
The Nets, with their star-studded lineup featuring K. Irving, J. Harden, K. Durant, and B. Griffin, are going against the Lakers, featuring L. James and his hand-picked supporting cast. That would be interesting. But that group of notables will never be on the floor tonight. Between one injury and another, neither team will be playing at full strength, and the only chance the Lakers have of winning would be based on severe jet lag (which doesn't happen going East to West) or use of controlled substances by the Nets.
Pity.
