NATO IS OPENING THE DOOR TO ALL OUT WAR

"NATO 'ready' to help Turkey deal with Syria

Secretary-general says Ankara can rely on alliance, as Assad's troops try to regain control of rebel-held Ras al-Ain.

"Ankara said last week that it was in talks with NATO about Patriot missiles but had not made a formal request [EPA]

NATO is ready to help member state Turkey as the 20-month conflict in Syria is increasingly spilling across the border, the alliance's chief Anders Fogh Rasmussen has said.

"Turkey can rely on NATO solidarity, we have more plans in place to defend and protect Turkey, our ally, if needed," Rasmussen told reporters in Prague on Monday.

The NATO secretary-general also said the transatlantic military alliance still has not received a request from Turkey for a possible deployment of US-made Patriot anti-aircraft missiles.

"But obviously if such a request is to be forwarded, the NATO council will have to consider it," he added.

Ankara said last week that it was in talks with NATO about the Patriots but had not made any formal request.

President Abdullah Gul said last week that Turkey reserved the right to defend itself against any threat from Syria, its one-time ally, but that it was "out of the question" that Ankara would start a war.

    "Obviously"---

As both Israel and Turkey fire into Syria,
NATO, a name for a now unneeded
    and now unholy alliance.
one that is composed of the EU, the US, and pig-tailed by Israel,
(and that includes Turkey, but only as an ally unworthy of becoming a part of the EU)
has thus announced its military support
for a Turkey that seems hell bent on starting a war with Syria
for the sole purpose of enabling Turkey to become the entrepot for transporting Mid East and Central Asia oil and gas
to a EU that looking to the future is desperate for an oil and gas source
that can compete with Russian oil and gas.

    World War I destroyed monarchies.
World War II destroyed western colonialism.
World War III, when it comes, and that soon,
    will destroy the EU,
and finish the destruction of the US,
and China will dominate the world
    militarily, economically and philosophically.

    SHOCKLEY

NATO gettin' ready to respond to use of chemical weapons in Syria...

NATO moves toward deployment on Syria border
7 Dec.`12 — As fears grow in the West that Syrian President Bashar Assad will unleash chemical weapons as an act of desperation, NATO moved forward Thursday with its plan to place Patriot missiles and troops along Syria's border with Turkey to protect against potential attacks.

You know the US Military falls under UN and NATO control right? Obama and Panetta said so.

Using NATO to attack Syria's WMDs with no threat to NATO (Turkey) violates their charter.

Now forming a coalition outside NATO isn't illegal, but using NATO to attack Syria if Turkey isn't directly attacked is not legal.

Turkey and NATO can defend Turkey's land and air, but not roll into Syria just because.

Assad uses chemical weopons on his people. NATO jets take out his air force, artillery installations, and infantry strongholds. The Syrians do the rest. Then they decide what takes Assad's place. As in Libya, no ground troops involved, and they are responsible for their own fate. Now doesn't that sound like real conservative ideals?
