My go-to dip...

A 16 ounce tub of sour cream

A bar of softened Philly cream cheese

Two if you want it thicker.

A jar of your choice of salsa

Tortilla chips.

Mix the softened cream cheese with sour cream. (Cut the cream cheese in cubes and soften it in the microwave)

Mix it well.

Add the salsa and mix again.

Refrigerate for at least 6 hours or it will be runny.

Serve with salted tortilla chips.

Many different ratios are delicious.

Here in Texas it's usually a melted cheese dip with hamburger meat and other mexican ingredients called Jose's Dip named after a Chili Con Queso dish from Molina's a very popular Tex Mex restaurant.
It's like nachos in a bowl.

Why ruin good salsa.

That sounds wonderful. 👍

I've got all the ingredients except Velveeta.

I'm going to try and make this over the weekend.

You wont regret it.
Be sure and look for unsalted tortilla chips.
There's enough salt in the dip from the velveeta as it is.
It's not a bad idea to have some fresh Pico De Gallo on the side so you get some fresh crunchy veggies.

Went to our friends house who are American football mad, but we only stopped to 2am. We took hotdogs, rolls and homemade Coney sauce. The usual snacks, supermarket dips etc.. were there, but we should have took 10 times the quantity of Coney sauce. We make it without the chillies/heat in it.

In the UK, hotdogs just come with ketchup and mustard, so finding Coney sauce on YouTube has made a difference.
