Ukraine isn't our concern the same way iraq wasn't our concern, the same way vietnam wasn't our concern, the same way korea wasn't our concern......
Our concern is global stability. Countries that think they can violate that with no repercussions are a danger to stability.

It is our concern.

Biden is handling the Ukraine situation and Putin perfectly.

You are a most interesting study of cognitive rigidity and psychosis.

What possesses you to be a fan of someone who cannot even manage to control his own toilet ?

Known as Dementia Man , the Diaper Kid and Mr Piss Pants , he hardly inspires confidence .

Love the article. Well stated , still my qestion :

Finally, many fear the dissolution of Moscow empire , just as President George H.W. Bush feared the dissolution of the USSR and even went to Ukraine to agitate against Ukrainian nationalism in his 1991 “chicken Kiev” speech. We must not repeat his mistake. Let those nations that desire to leave Moscow empire do so.

As the exiled Moscow opposition politician Leonid Gozman argues, the ideal outcome is that Moscow empire is defeated and has to capitulate, as Germany did in 1945. The problem with the 1991 collapse of the USSR was that it was too peaceful;
Muscovites did not feel defeated. They did not understand why the USSR had collapsed.

I see Ukraine FINALLY fired a bunch of corrupt people in their government. Apparently that was the only way for them to get tanks, so they reluctantly complied. This is why they never deserved anyones help in the first place.

The ONLY reason we are involved at all is because we all hate Russia, but Ukraine is an embarrassing and disgraceful nation that deserves the misery they are now in.

The reason to be involved is to send a message to the world that you don’t get to try to conquer nations without paying a very steep price.

It’s a message to Russia as much as it is to China.

Keep dreaming.

We keep hearing about how ukraine is "crushing, annihilating, destroying" russia. Yet, ukraine begs for billions, tanks, munitions, weapons, F-16s on a daily basis. If they were "crushing" russia, why would they need all this stuff? I think we know how the media pumps out propaganda. Ukraine isn't winning anything.
From the way the situation is progressing, it looks like the goal is to disarm the United States for the benefit of China.

Keep dreaming.

Yeah, that's what happens when you place military/bases in countries around the world. We have no business fighting a proxy war with russia. None at all.
So what happens when China invades Taiwan?

Not our business. Right?

Lincoln "won" the Civil War by finding a General who understood the concept of a war of attrition. That is to say, a general who was willing to absorb countless casualties on his own side, because he could afford to lose them, while the Confederates couldn't .
Putin is also mounting a war of attrition. He is willing to absorb as many casualties as it takes to win; Ukraine doesn't have that ability. Their resources and manpower are limited. Putin will continue this war until he achieves his objectives, period. No amount of anger by the Russian people will deter him. He has convinced them that this is a secular "holy war."
