Where the wild things are
5,549 trucks carrying 155,312 tons of goods entered Gaza through the Kerem Shalom Crossing in September, according to figures released by the IDF on Sunday.

These included 1,519 truckloads of food products, 1,244 truckloads of construction materials, 64 truckloads of medical equipment, 258 truckloads of livestock and 2,464 truckloads of miscellaneous items.

46,130 trucks carrying 1,285,946 tons of goods have been transferred to Gaza so far this year, noted the IDF.

Hamas, which violently took control of Gaza in 2007, constantly claims that the region is under an “Israeli siege” because of Israel’s naval blockade on the region, which is meant at stopping weapons and other materials that can used for terror attacks to enter Gaza.

That doesn't make any sense. Hamas was the elected government in office.

And why no exports? What does the export of flowers and vegetables have to do with weapons?

You’re obviously hoping to ignore the civil war that raged between the Islamic terrorists of the Fatah syndicate and the terrorists from Hamas, Moslem Brotherhood wannabes.

Because really, who said that democracy has to be about timely elections, the rule of law, and political parties whose members aren't masked killers who carry a loaded Kalashnikov everywhere they go? So yeah, welcome to “democracy” (of the islamist terrorist brand) in the Middle East—Palestinian Arab style.

Hamas was the elected government in office. A violent takeover makes no sense.

After the supposed takeover, the president was still the president. The prime minister was still the prime minister. None of the cabinet members were changed. No laws were changed. The constitution was still in force.

What do you mean, violent takeover?

So... you can't even consider a reality based worldview.

Nothing in the government changed.

Define takeover.

You define takeover. It's your term.

You're reality challenged, right?

Not at all.

After the supposed takeover, the president was still the president. The prime minister was still the prime minister. None of the cabinet members were changed. No laws were changed. The constitution was still in force.

Where is the takeover? What part of this looks like a takeover?

The leaders are replaced. The constitution is suspended.

Things like that.

The prime reason for a takeover, Tinmore.

BILLIONS of euros in European aid to the Palestinians may have been misspent, squandered or lost to corruption, according to a damning report by the European Court of Auditors, the Luxembourg-based watchdog.

Brussels transferred more than £1.95bn to the occupied territories between 2008 and 2012 but had little control over how it was spent, the auditors say in an unpublished report seen by The Sunday Times.

EU investigators who visited sites in Jerusalem, Gaza and the West Bank noted “significant shortcomings” in the management of funds sent to Gaza and the West Bank. Gaza is controlled by Hamas, which is classified as a terrorist organisation by the EU.
