Seems DOD is getting tough on chronic nondeployables. Not those wounded in combat as they'll find something else for them to do if they want to stay in.

Just what is a "nondeployable?"

Simple. Someone who can't pack up and go overseas when they are needed. That does not necessarily mean into combat zones but places where the are needed to fill unit mission requirements.

The policy states that if someone is not deployable for over a year, they have to go elsewhere.

Makes sense to me. If you are a grunt then you have to be deployable. Simple as that. And that goes for every and any job. The ones that can't be deployed and are not legit combat injured or pregnant should get out.
