Massachusetts gets education right

In 1993 MA instituted a new approach to teaching math and science and the results have been spectacular. They make better use of a "hand-on" approach, relate the subject to the real world and have high expectations of the students ability to grasp the subjects

Were it a country, MA would be second in the world in proficiency.

It has a lot to do with demographics.

Math and science proficiency is inversely proportional to the percentage of "minorities" in the student population. America's suburbs prove this out year after year.
