Republicans like to say that Democrats treated Bush with the same hatred and virulence they admit to treating Obama.
History is not going to bear that out.
First, Bush got everything he wanted:
Tax cuts that helped mainly the rich
Huge no bid contracts for friends
A drugs for votes bill costing possibly trillions
The invasion of Iraq
Bank bailouts
evisceration of OSHA
I honestly can't think of anything he didn't get. And everything he did was a failure and a disaster. And caused terrible damage. Many right wingers will say he helped Africans with AIDS, but even there, he cut funding for any clinic that offered family planning or dispensed condoms. "Condoms". Besides complete abstinence, condoms are the only effective method for preventing contracting AIDS. Conservatives can't even keep their kids here from having babies. Ask St. Sarah. How many there died because of Bush Policies. Nothing he touched escaped getting damaged.
And look at Obama. Got Bin Laden. Passed a gutted Health Care Bill. Even though it was gutted by Republicans, it still managed to help millions of Americans. Republicans couldn't even help the victims of Katrina. He removed a brutal dictator while not losing a single American life, unlike Bush who lost thousands and tens of thousands more were maimed. The cost of their care will be passed on to Obama just like all the other Republican disasters.
Even though Bush ignored warnings about 9/11, Democrats still supported him.
Republicans said they were out to get Obama even before he was sworn in. They keep talking about his "agenda" even if they can't tell what it is beyond "he's a Marxist" or some nonsense.
Clearly, Obama has been able to do more good for America, even though Republicans have fought him every step of the way, than Bush did, even with support from both sides.
By the time Bush left office, his low approval ratings were because he was inept.
If Obama is not elected, Republicans will go down as the worst party in the history of the country. Because Obama has changed our foreign policy completely by doing what Bush did, but with no American deaths at almost no cost. Republicans will enact his entire jobs plan and take credit for it just like they did when Obama took out Bin Laden. We know that's what will happen. Over a hundred Republican congressmen have already taken credit for jobs in their districts created with Obama's Stimulus funds.
With Obama gone, Republican will enact every single one of Obama's policies, especially his jobs policies, and Republicans will try to take credit for them.
Republicans think it will be forgotten, but it won't. Obama has already wrote two best sellers. He will make three times the money of Bill Clinton. He will be seen as a good president who could have been great but was stopped by a Confederate Conservative Party that loved America less than it hated him.
