This is someone you've never heard of.

This is a guy named Steve White. His virtuosity was undeniable, and we used to love to sit back in his back yard and listen to him write some of the best songs you've never heard, and he did it on the fly. It was on one of those cool San Diego evenings that he wrote the first song in this video, called "57 Miles From Mexico".

Steve passed away back in 2011, right before I left San Diego.

He's missed by more than he ever would've imagined...
