I love africam. Over there, it starts getting active at around 7pm, PST because it is dawn there. I have seen giraffes, lions, elephants, water buffalo, leopards, etc. Sometimes I don't see anything at all. But I love listening to the sounds. If I click on the website earlier, all I hear is crickets and night birds but a few times I heard lions roaring in the distance. Too cool.

Anywho...do you guys watch live cams and if so..which ones? Don't forget the link!

And live cams can mean something vulgar, Gracie, you need to clarify which ones, just fyi.

You sound like you're admonishing her. She hasn't done anything wrong. If someone sees her thread called "Live Cams" and thinks it's going to be about sex live cams, that's their problem, not hers. Just fyi.

We used to have an elephant in our zoo here in Anchorage, Alaska. Her name was Maggie. People became concerned about her because she was all alone, the only elephant, and the climate up here is not really suitable for elephants. Bob Barker of "The Price is Right" fame became involved and they raised like $300,000 and arranged for her transport to a sanctuary in California.

There was a live cam set up so we could see her when she got there. It was so cool to watch that live cam and see Maggie. She made friends with a couple of other elephants and was doing very well. I don't know if the live cam is still operational, I haven't looked in a long, long time. I'm so glad Maggie got the hell out of Alaska!

While the new Mississippi River bridge at Greenville was being constructed, there was a live webcam set up about halfway between the work site and the old bridge. I used to watch it for hours at a time...the work boats moving crew and materials, the tow boats moving large rafts of barges up and down the river past the site.

The webcam is long gone, but I browse the history sites now and then to remind myself of the hours I spent watching the live action.

My thoughts generally end in recollection of the casino on the Mississippi side...makes me want to take a trip home.

edit:
I wonder who's operating the pan/tilt/zoom controls....and where is the wobble stick?

...go to approximately

27deg02'42.89" S
32deg26'53.61" S

Click on the picture icon titled "Tembe Waterhole"

You will see the same waterhole shown in the live webcam videos

Click back to the full Google Earth picture and zoom in on where the Waterhole picture is located...you'll see the cabin that has the webcam mounted on it.

I used to look for haunted houses and the queen mary web cams to see if I would catch a glimpse of a ghost, but it never happened.

I like to look at other countries on web cam, but I haven't done that in a long time.

Um. Have I ever given the impression I am in to porn or filth? No. Live cams. Africam. Zebras, lions, tigers and bears oh my. Doesn't sound like that needs explanation. :eusa_whistle:

At all 4 cams, there are resorts in the background of the cam itself. They have staff manning the cams. :)

I go to Lahaina a couple of times a week and watch the people via the cams on Front street. It is the nearest to Maui I will ever get nowadays.

I also go to the wall in Jerusalem...but it's been a long while since I have. Yes, there is a cam there too. Just google WORLD LIVE STREAMING CAMS and click whatever interests you. My fav is the Maui one and Africam. :)
