Except that they didn't really give us the Bill of Rights. The Bill of Rights was a sop given to opponents of the Constitution.

Anyway, both sides wanted the Bill of Rights but one side was scared that by bringing it up it would get the government involved in basic rights which, given the evil nature of governnment, might turn out badly.

I didn't change the subject. You're the one who brought the Bill of Rights in the discussion. And no, supporters of the Constitution didn't want a Bill of Rights to be added. They thought it was unnecessary (or, at least, that's what they said publicly).
