“I always thought that if I went into the tech industry, I could create a prosperous future for myself. But who wants to commute six hours a day? You should be able to afford a place to live near where you have to work.”

It’s weird how when you adopt a bunch of regulations limiting the supply of housing, the price goes up.

The median home value in San Francisco is $1,365,000.

When I worked out of San Jose I telecommuted. Yes we have valuable homes.

That will soon be worthless as the left push to kill Prop 13 and force a mass exodus out of KKKalifornia.

Like most poor people you are short sighted. I'll buy up anyones property at rock bottom prices then kick back and watch it rise right back up to 7 figure values.

Once again your ignorance and hate is on display. First of all, grid lock exists in every major metropolitan area. BART was established in the Mid 1950's to compensate for the tire, oil and battery lobbies effort to put people in cars, not in public transportation.

Secondly, the hosing problem in SF and the Bay Area is being mitigated by expanding BART, Ferry Service and heavy rail reducing commute time for those who choose those options. SF is only 49 Sq. Miles, and very little open space exists. Hunter's Point and Treasure Island are being developed and each new development includes special pricing for first time home buyers.

Of course renters pay the going rate, set by the market; rent control is a nasty word for most conservatives and those who pretend to be conservatives (like you, who don't understand the distinction between regulations and socialism).

Median salary for an architect (first thing I checked) is 65K per year. Median home is over a million.
Salaries run a little high, but comparing identical franchise positions, it appears to be about 10%-15% higher (San Fran vs San An). Home prices and rents are running 250%-300% higher in San Fran vs San Antonio.

The Japanese did that back in the 1980's in Californicaion and they got hit with a boondoggle like those who were turning houses in 2007 with the Maxine Waters, Chris Dodd, and Barney Frank housing collapse. Fires, earthquakes, illegals shooting up Citizens, property values will soon look like Detroit.

Tech companies have been leaving the bay area for years. That's how dogtown became silicon beach.

No wonder youre poor. You let random news articles drive your investment strategies. You see there are these things called cycles. There is also a strategy that says buy low and sell high. Time is on the side of the patient. However you probably have no clue. Youre a idiot.
