Yesh Atid chairman sets two red lines in negotiations to join coalition, appoints team of negotiators. Meanwhile, party is divided on potential partners

Yesh Atid Chairman Yair Lapid will set two basic conditions to joining the coalition: equal share of the burden legislation and the resumption of peace talks with the Palestinians.

Lapid's "red lines":

Concerning the Israeli-Palestinian conflict

1. Two states for two nations.

2. "Gushei Hityashvut" (current settlements) in our hands.

3. Jerusalem shall not be departed

4. No new settlements will be built. Builting will continue in current settlements.

Concerning the "Burden carrying"

1. All those reaching 18, INCLUDING orthodox and Arabs, will be drafted. Army will decide their location.

2. Combats will be better payed, national servie will serve for two years.

3. Only 400 orthodox each year will be released from duty.

Concerning the education policy

1. A national council to push for basic studies for all Israeli children

2. Reducing social gaps

3. Councils in "Periferia" will get larger education budgets

4. Reducing number of final exams for teens

Concerning governmental issues

1. Number of ministers will be up to 18

2. The largest party will establish the government

3. Threshold increase

4. Reducing the ability to change governmental issues under internal votes

Concerning economical issues

1. The state will encourage and help small business

2. Enlarging the participation in the working marker (Especially for Arabs and Haredi Jews)

3. Budget for settlements will be reduced in favor of education and security.

Concerning the housing problem

Building 150,000 apartments in favor of young couples in major cities.

True or False?

"In January 2013, just days before the election, Lapid said 'I do not think that the Arabs want peace, I want to be rid of them and put a tall fence between us and them, to maintain a Jewish majority in the Land of Israel.'"

Since there are currently as many Arabs as Jews living in the Land of Israel, is Lapid calling for Jewish rule over all people living between the River and the sea?

He is against building new settlements, FOR cutting their budget in favor of education, AGAINST the Tal law.....

If there's ANYONE completely different from Netanyahu, that's him:cool:
Is he calling for a Jewish or Democratic state in Greater Israel?

What do you mean by "Greater Israel"?
Since the terrorist state of Israel has never declared a set border.

"Greater Israel" can mean anything the Zionists say it means......Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Egypt, etc.

"Two states for two nations"

And what kind of state might that be for the "Palestinians"? Netanyahu always said he's for a demilitarized state for them that should be in there, but if the Arabs can't accept a Jewish state there is no need to negotiate anything now is there?

What a lame liar. We never said Israel should be any part of those hellholes.
Ancient Israel included Jordan and large portions of Lebanon, Egypt, and Syria.

Plus, a great number of Hebrews lived in what today is today called Iraq.

The terrorist stated of Israel could very well apply the same Zionist tactics of genocide they have used on the Palestinians.

To ethnically cleanse these former Hebrew lands in order to fulfill the Zionist dream of a Greater Israel.

Greed is part of the Juden's DNA

There is never enough to satisfy their lust to own and control everything.

Whenever there is a hugh financial scam that gets busted by the police.

Inevitably, it's one of the "Chosen People" that organized the ponzi scheme.........

Thanks for this post Lipush, it gives me hope that peace and a two state solution is in the forecast.

The Israeli public deserves credit for supporting the obvious solution.

Nut&Yahoo's policies of giving the World his bulheaded right wing fantasies have woken them up!

What do you mean by "Greater Israel"?
The geography corresponding to Mandate Palestine.

And what Is "Palestine"?

I think what I said is clear. The idea is no new settlements, but no expelling Jews from current settlements, either. where Israel IS existing, there will be democracy, and not rulling of the Halacha laws.

Does that answer your question.?
