Villanelle might be semi-compassionate: In “Do You Know How to Dispose of a Body?”, Villanelle befriends young Gabriel (Pierre Atri), who has been horribly disfigured after the car accident that left him an orphan. After Villanelle tells him that he’s pretty hideous (which she’s excited about), Gabriel laments that he wishes he had died in the accident. Villanelle holds him a moment, then snaps his neck and tucks him in to bed.

Is she feeling compassion, or just eliminating a witness? Regardless, Villanelle’s relationship with Gabriel was sweet for a bit. He really enjoyed her honesty, and she seemed to like him as long as he served a purpose.

Phoebe Waller Bridge is a brilliant scriptwriter. Has a knack of perfectly describing psychopaths.

She may have got her inspiration from USMB.
