If a record is expunged then why would it be "kept indefinately"?
Someone is wrong and/or lying.
OR you don't know how the legal system works.
An expunged record simply means that if he were arrested for something later on down the road , the juvenile charges wouldn't be used as a basis to lengthen any sentence. In other words, he wouldn't be deemed a repeat offender.. Expunged does NOT mean that all records of the events are destroyed.
So the article is wrong, ad the OP is wrong. The judge ordered the record EXPUNGED, he did NOT order it DESTROYED.
