The child pornography included children under 12. The real thing. Josh admitted to fondling his 5 year old sister while she sat in his lap having a story read. There were several others. He was 14 and 15 at the time.

He's a pedophile, and if the judge lets him out of jail, it will be with no contact with his children. If the family tries to pray it away and doesn't protect the children, I'm sure Childrens Services will take custody.

This isn't some horny guy with a 17 year old. It isn't President Biden being handy in front of a camera. It's not about Epstein or Clinton or anyone else who's been mentioned in this thread of incredible whataboutisms. The Christian Conservative hero and celebrity is a real pedophile.

Why he got off before is a puzzlement.

Josh's younger sisters began telling their parents about Josh fondling their breasts and genitals when Josh had just turned 14. The parents disciplined him but did not seek any counseling for him or the girls. The girls continued to report abuse by Josh. Jim Bob told the church elders, but no one reported it to authorities. They sent Josh away to a friend who was remodeling a building for a few months as therapy.
This was finally reported when a letter, written by a friend of the Duggars, was discovered in an old book a few years later, and word of it finally was reported when the Oprah show was told about the situation just before a scheduled appearance by the Duggars. Finally, Oprah did the right thing and reported it to the child abuse hotline.

The Duggars refused to allow Josh to be interviewed and the statute of limitations ran.
