Josh Duggar Checks Into Long-Term Treatment

In a short statement, the Duggars disclosed that their eldest child is on "a long journey toward wholeness and recovery." The statement does not specify what, specifically, the 27-year-old is seeking treatment for, but in his initial statement after it was revealed that he'd maintained an account on the website Ashley Madison, Duggar admitted to an addiction to pornography, an admission he later retracted.

the whole family needs to be relegated to Red State MURICA and NOT given a tv show :talktothehand:.
Why do you assume it has something to do with him being a RW or coming from a religious family? Are you implying that perverts don't come from LW atheist families?

Oh look this guy is an atheist and a convicted sexual predator( with a minor), if he's a libtard (and he probably is) we have a trifecta. Oh and he's been charged with Animal Cruelty and assault! That's two up on Josh Duggar. The point is even a LW atheists can be a total nut job and a perv.

OP accusatory theme of religion and political association be responsible or Josh Duggars sexual perversions is complete BS. As the article below proves anyone can be a pervert.

The Rev. Norman Hayes , 57, says he was brutally beaten at his Ohio church after he asked a man’s girlfriend if she was being abused.

The sermon ended and the beating began.

Self-described militant atheist James Maxie pummeled an Ohio pastor after a church service, opening long gashes over the man’s eyes and breaking his nose, the Dayton Daily News reported.

Maxie, a 28-year-old sex offender with a violent past, reportedly mauled Rev. Norman Hayes after the preacher asked Maxie’s church-going girlfriend if she was being abused.

"I questioned his girlfriend in his presence if she felt safe," Hayes, 57, told the paper. "He was very, very upset that I'd even suggest that he would hurt her. Then he turned around and hurt me very badly."

North Hampton Police Chief Jarrod Campbell would later say he’d rarely seen “an incident this brutal.”

Maxie dropped the pastor with a punch and then rained right-handed haymakers on his face, Hayes said.

"He came from nowhere and hit me ... and knocked me down, and then he got on top of me and just kept hitting me over and over," Hayes said.

Maxie finally stopped as Hayes begged for his life.

"It was fortunate he did stop," he said. "I really believe my life was in danger if he hadn't stopped hitting me in the face over and over."

Maxie ran into a cornfield as cops began to arrive at the Bridge Community Church.

A sheriff’s deputy eventually found Maxie hiding behind a house, authorities said.

In a statement to police, Maxie claimed he was trying to reclaim his faith in God and “asked questions about science and religion” that angered Hayes. He claimed the pastor told his girlfriend she was “going to hell for dating me.”

CLARK COUNTY JAIL
James Maxie, 28, a self-described militant atheist, was charged with felony assault in the brutal beating of a pastor at the Bridge Community Church in North Hampton, Ohio.
“That’s when I made the worst mistake ever,” Maxie said.

But it wasn’t his first. Ohio prison records show Maxie was convicted of felony assault in 2006 and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor in 2007.

He was charged in 2004 with four counts of cruelty to animals, the Dayton paper said.

His Facebook profile includes numerous references to atheism and criticisms of religion.

In the “About” section, he writes, “very very hostile.”

Maxie reportedly apologized for the attack when he was arraigned Monday on felony assault, but the pastor was skeptical.

“I think he probably was sorry for the situation he found himself in,” Hayes said. “I think it’s very easy to be sorry in that environment when you’re before a judge.”

Hayes said his religion allows for forgiveness, but he still thinks Maxie should be punished.

"We believe there is hope for everyone,”Hayes said, “but we also believe that regardless of that, people need to pay for what they have done, and I hope he has to pay for what he has done — get put away for a while and not hurt anyone else. In my opinion, the next person won't be as lucky as I was.”

The judged imposed an order of protection at the pastor’s request and set bond at $51,000.
