From what I understand, under previous administrations, they would have entered asylum requests for a court date, and then released those who requested asylum into the general population.

Then those asylum seekers would travel to whatever location they desired, end up integrating into society, become day laborers or what not, and just disregard their court date, and thus, break the law.

Later, we would then have children of these illegals, and these illegals a decade later to deal with, a huge mess.


Trump's policy is not going to be this.

He is using this man power of the national guard to do something entirely new. Something the global business foundations and legal teams that have supported been supporting these caravans did not count on.

He is having this man power construct temporary holding facilities for all these young men, until they can have their day in court.

I think he is hoping many of them would rather just turn around and go home.

The vast majority of this crowd is young, working age men.

The troops are just going to construct camps to hold them in. There will be no more "catch and release" like there has been over the past several decades.

The purpose for their presence is to make sure these "illegal immigrants" don't just crash the border; just because they are seeking asylum or whatever their reason.
