Where the wild things are
Israel elects new president to walk into Peres' shoes: Three other candidates, Dorner, Itzik and Shechtman, knocked out in first round of vote for Peres' successor in Israel's highest public office.

In the first round, former Supreme Court justice Dalia Dorner received 13 votes, former Knesset Speaker Dalia Itzik received 28 votes, Rivlin got 44, Sheetrit 31 and Nobel laureate Professor Dan Shechtman received just one vote. Of the 120 MKs, 119 voted with two spoiled ballots.

Note: considerations regarding votes will probably balance two ideologic views. Sheetrit comes from the leftist Avoda party, while former spokesman advocated more rightist views. That will be the main concideration regarding Knesset votes (But not in case the people were to vote).

What is known so far:

'Hatnuah' (Tzipi Livni leftist party) will probably vote for Me'ir Sheetrit.
'Meretz' party will probably vote for Me'ir Sheetrit
'Yesh Atid' (Ya'ir Lapid central party) will probably vote for Me'ir Sheetrit
'The Labor' ('Avoda') party will probablly vote for Me'ir Sheetrit
Arab parties will probably vote for Me'ir Sheetrit
The Orthodox parties woll vote for Rivlin
'The Jewish home' will vote for Rivlin
'The Likud' (The Prime Minister's rightist party) will probably vote for Rivlin

The above declaired 'Open Votes' meaning individual can and allowed to vote against veiws of their party.

???????

---------------

I'm all hopes Rivlin will be the next in line.
