Israel, the Theocratic Jewish State

"The Israeli chief Sephardic rabbi, Yitzhak Yosef, told a gathering of followers that non-Jews should be expelled from Israel (Hebrew here). The only exception, he said, would be in the cases of non-Jews who accepted the seven Noahide laws.

The rabbi’s intent is to expel the largest non-Jewish population in Israel, Palestinian Arabs. He also said that those non-Jews who did accept the Noahide laws and remained in the Israel, would primarily serve Jews. Their role would be akin to slaves and servants in colonial regimes.

Some may argue that these figures are marginal in Israeli society. However Rabbi Yosef is not just the chief Sephardic Rabbi, but also a spiritual leader of one of Israel’s major political parties, Shas. As such, he wields considerable power in Israeli society. Israel, which was once a largely secular society, has become increasingly theocratic."

Oh, my. Louie888 has competition for the title of "Head Cut and Paster in Charge".

What The Monty doesn't understand is that the Israeli Parliament is the body that makes laws and sets domestic policy.

While the Rabbi has his privilege of free speech to exercise, he does not set policy.

Maybe The Monty can comment on the Islamic terrorist policy of hoped-for genocide of the Jewish people as delineated in the Hamas charter.

What a nutcase zealot. No wonder Rome destroyed their temple in 70 AD. They had no choice.

Ironic that Penny jumps in and justifies persecution of an entire cultural group because of a zealot. Isn't that what this thread is about? That it is NOT morally permissible to persecute an entire group because of the actions of some?

The first century will start all over again, zealots and sacarii against the moderate jews, and Rome saved the day.

So sounds like you agree with this zealot? Many feel like him. They want to start sacrificing lambs again. You have just as many Jewish zealots as Palestinian ones.

Never blame Rome for what they did, they had no choice.

Reverse Dhimmitude?

What goes around, comes around, eh?

Enjoy your turn in the barrel.

Long overdue.

Great fun.

============================================================

A far more likely and far more sustainable and far more satisfying solution is to start shipping so-called Palestinians to the East Bank of the Jordan River.

Shipping them to Arab Palestine... a.k.a. Jordan.

The way it should have been, all along.

The way it's been heading since 1948.

They way it's nearly accomplished, already, based on the Palis own propaganda maps.

Why are you posting a Hasbara propaganda map drawn in 2005? Trans-Jordania was never part of Palestine, it was part of the Arab Kingdom of Syria and was set aside as the home of the Hashemite bedouin, not Palestinian Christians and Muslims.

And? Assuming it's true, a powerless rabbi supposedly said something, which adds up to zero as far far as govt. policy is concerned, just like a priest or religious figure in the US would. Unlike Muslim societies and communities.

Yada yada yada. He has no official position, and wields just as much power as an Evangelical priest would have on the Republican Party in the US. In other words, not much.

Whereas Palestinians are led by Hamas, an Islamic extremist terrorist organization that is imposing barbaric shariah law on the territory it controls. So shove it.
