we are being led from one protacted war right into another (Afghanistan -> Ukraine) and then another (Taiwan), by our own richer community and especially their usual hawkish media outlets and hawk TV personalities.

Trump is getting massive support, *again*, despite leading an uprising into the Capitol on a busy day there, and getting impeached *twice*.

isn't it time you Americans reigned and plainly ignored your own hawks a bit more?
China has a need for Taiwan to join the CCP - it's located too close off it's shore to be left as a democratic republic.
Russia has a real need for the resources of Ukraine to be available to it's regional customers (like Iran).
Iran has the right to violently strike down protests - it's not like they do any different in other countries, it's just the methods that differ.

i honestly fear that we are taking on much more than we can carry, with the planned and now advertised NATO + EU military missions.
and the risk of a conventional wide scale regional conflict or even conventional world war, is also very present at the moment.
the Chinese are probably not going to lick their wounds if we manage to sink their South China Sea Fleet.
