I heard somebody take the position that those flooding over our southern border would actually be good for the economy.. What a deluded fool he was. That idea is as much crap as Reagan's "trickle down theory" of economics. It is the same kind of crap as capitalist scum saying that our jobs aren't coming back. Then there is the motherload of stupid things that Americans are being brainwashed into thinking is a good thing. Which is the idea that we are heading toward a service based economy.

For some, scabs and wage slaves may be a good thing. But not for the majority of Americans. Also, there will come a time when these people will demand to be treated better. What's the plan then. Import more scabs and wage slaves? Also, look at all of the jobs that were sent overseas. That definitely wasn't good for the U.S. For one thing, look at the trade imbalance with China alone. I have seen estimates of the trade deficit with them that ranged from over three hundred billion per year to over seven hundred billion per year.

For what the U.S. has probably lost, even that is probably peanuts. Here's a clue for the boneheads in government. Americans like to work! To do so without having to also get food stamps would be even better. But instead, the U.S. has lost a lot to crime. As for the victims of crime, who knows what they have lost. It probably also costs a pretty penny to have the largest percentage of its citizens in jail than any other counrty. There is another problem with sending jobs overseas or importing scabs. Which is that it is like union busting on steroids. But many good things have come from unions. Like less child labor, better working conditions, shorter hours and fewer days that need to be worked. But as it is, employers are basically now free to turn their workers up to eleven.

Oh if I were dictator. How things would change! But who would vote for a dictator. Especially one who was a Nazi sympathizer. Maybe when happy thoughts and fairy dust no longer buoys our monitary system, things will change. After all, a while ago Greece recently had an election. Because of their poor economic system, about a third of their voters voted for a Facist government. It's too bad the Facists didn't win.

Most of the reason for the economic success we have is because we live in a country rich in natural resources and arable land. Not because of capitalism. Also, since you bring up wealth, let's look at some of the other things the U.S. is wealthy in.
We have the wealth of having the most people in jail. We have the wealth of producing the most serial killers than any other country. We are wealthy in the successful greed of the one percenters. We are wealthy in the ability of corporations to legally bribe elected officials.
We are wealthy in the number of people who can't afford health coverage. We have the wealth of having among one of the worst educational systems in the developed world. We have a wealth of lax enviornmental laws. (Though admittedly, the countries we shipped our jobs to have even more lax environmental laws) We have a wealth of people who are unemployed, underemployed and who have stopped even trying to find a job. We have a wealth of low wage workers who also have to get food stamps to get by. We are wealthy in the poor working conditions American have to endure compared to the rest of the civilized world. etc. etc. etc. Wherever you heard that America is the wealthest country in the world, it would seem that we are pretty wealthy. If you want to consider the things I've mentioned as a good thing.

First of all, I wish you would get off that "liberal" kick. Hitler may not have been perfect. Obviously, I'm not liberal. Though terms like liberal, conservative, socialist, communist and facist are just labels that are largely meaningless. There are probably good aspects to be found in any philosophy. Also, our founders never heard of a Nazi. You then bring up freedom. But people basically act like chimps. How much freedom do chimps deserve.

Also, I don't much care for the freedom some companies have to cut off the tops of mountains to get at coal instead of hiring miners. Neither do I care for the freedom employers have to exploit workers. Or the freedom to have as many children as you want in an already overcrowded world. etc. etc. etc. Being the parasitic, self centered, egotistical monkeys that most people are, there are many freedoms that the world would be better off us not having.

Yes. I receive food stamps. I am about as poor as it is possible for any American to be. I am also highly uneducated. That is why in my original thread, "A Freedom of Speech Test," I challenged the best and brightest this forum had to offer to challenge the things I said in that thread. I had done the same on many other political or Atheist forums. If they didn't immidately ban me, they soon did so. Because nobody that I found anywhere could successfully argue against my logic and wisdom. Even if it did come from somebody who had been poor most of their life. Somebody bring on the wisdom of the one percenters! Such as Bill Gates. I wish he would throw some millions of dollars my way like he did for "The Race." Which most people know as "La Raza."

First, I work three jobs and have been progressively "poorer" for several years. I would not describe myself as "well-to-do" and am not classified so by government definition. Doesn't stop me from struggling to pay my bills and feed those who depend on me. Despite my education and skills, my pay does not increase according to the costs. I cannot imagine collecting food stamps to pay my way. Must be a generational thing. I will grow my own food, hunt or butcher meat, if needs be.
The question I pose to you is, given government giveaways, why are you not striving to improve your lot?
I do agree that I am disgusted that government wastes so much money on useless and undeserving entities like La Raza, who have clearly declared their hate and disdain for the US and its citizens.

I guess it is a generational thing. Years ago, I couldn't even get hired at McDonadls. Apparently, jobs like that are easier to come by these days. Though I am from Michigan, I went to Indaina on a couple of occasions to work. A couple of times, I went to Texas to do the same. In these instances all I found was low pay work that I could hardly support myself with. Let alone a family. On another occasion I went to Florida for work. Only to get smeared on a motorcycle by somebody whose insurance company found a reason not to cover the holder of the policy. On another occasion I went to Virginia for work and, unfortunately, ended up join the navy. And all of this was before the U.S. decided to take a big shit on the American people and start sending jobs overseas.
So as you can see, I tried my whole life to improve my lot. For all the good it has done me. But maybe things will yet work out. Though even if they do, my views will never change. So now that I've answered your question, let me give you some advice. If you qualify, get on food stamps. Give those who depend on you a little break. It isn't a pride thing. It is a thing about finding balance against all the shit this country sees fit to put its citizens through.
