Interior Department was a fun place to work

Drill baby drill....

I posted this yesterday and just found it googling the GSA scandal.

General Services Administration Scandal

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't think people leaning towards McCain realize just how corrupt the GOP has been for the past 8 years.

GSA Hiring a New Chief After Former One Quits | News | Architectural Record

The General Services Administration, best known to many architects as the nation’s landlord, may soon have a new leader, after its former chief resigned nine weeks ago in a cloud of scandal.

Doan became GSA chief in May 2006, after working for 15 years as the owner of company that sold surveillance equipment. Her troubles at the GSA began in January 2007, when she allegedly asked members of the Bush administration how her agency could help “our candidates” after participating in a White House briefing about the 2008 elections, reported the Washington Post.

Her comments caused a stir, and the U.S. Office of Special Counsel later found that she had violated the Hatch Act. The federal law, enacted in 1939, prohibits federal employees from taking actions that would influence an election. By keeping workers politically neutral, the thinking goes, government jobs are less inclined to fall prey to a Boss Tweed-style patronage system.

This wasn’t Doan’s only alleged misstep. Last summer, she was accused of awarding a $20,000 contract to a friend without going through the proper bidding process. The friend, who is a public relations executive, was hired to write a report describing the GSA’s use of minority- and female-owned businesses. Doan canceled the order after the press discovered that it didn’t comply with contracting rules.

RGS, you can't hold Bush blameless on this one, as you know as well as I do, that if there is a bunch of garbage happening within the unit, the CO is held responsible for being unable to control their people, whether their department is admin or mechanics or supply, the Skipper is still responsible.

And.....judging from the leadership of the past 8 years under that idiot frat boy Bush Jr., I can kinda see how something like this would happen. What happens to the people under your command when you slack off and start not caring (like Bush Jr. appears to have done)? You end up with mid-level supervisors that start abusing power.

This is yet another example, they've been surfacing with regularity over the past 4 years or so.

Bush only appointed buddies and loyal neocons. Now all these appointees will leave office and have great resume's. So they will run for office in the future using that experience. Many will win. And so Bush's cronies will be with us lnog after he leaves the White House. Scary.

Fema, GAO, etc. How many scandals or mistakes. Remember when they accidentilly flew nukes over US Cities? Remember they sent nuclear parts to Taiwan on accident? Remember GAO was fooled into sending under cover agents parts that could be used to make a dirty bomb?

Most people have forgotten more than they remember about just how bad the Bush regime has been. HORRIBLE!!!

Actually, no.

Everyone remembers all the Bush Jr. appointees. Matter of fact, they had their own nickname....."the Texas Mafia". Most people will remember who they were, and the only ones that would hire them are the brain dead idiots who think that our current president is a swell guy.

That's usually the people who Bush Jr. and his cronies have been stuffing money into the pockets of.
