This whole issue is hard to explain. I remember Kate Smith as a very popular celebrity. I do not remember the songs that are cited though, although I do not doubt she sang them. I think she was the last generation to be insensitive to those lyrics, because my generation (the next) was hip deep in supporting those black non-violent fighters for the right of full citizenship. Kate was before civil rights, and so were the Yankees, but when the time came to see reality, I know the Yankees stepped up to the plate (yep, a pun) and hit away. I have no idea how Kate felt, but it was a time that had come even if resisted by some yet today.

When I was a child in elementary school, I noticed some of the derogatory lyrics in songs about Blacks, and the teacher explained that those derogatory lyrics were sung by Blacks, and most were written by Stephan Foster, who were not racist.
It is not wrong to remember history of times that were racist, and repeating songs from that time does not make one a racist.
It makes one a person who values history.
