A 2% increase would be huge and is practically out of the realm of possibility. That aside, where on earth do you get the idea that more unemployed people would help the Democrats? It's high unemployment that is factoring into their upcoming defeat.

Independents without much time or inclination to look at the complexity of issues, tend to vote the party in power out of power when times get hard.

We;ll see a big improvement, which will later (after the election) be revised to be not so stellar.
The Unemployment rate doesn't get revised. So I can already say you're wrong.
