Finally, American car companies are (hopefully) taking the initiative. Maybe this will pull them out of the rut. Instead of complaining about how Americans buy foreign cars, they finally try and solve the problem.

I'm not jumping to conclusions though...

Oh, good, because there are all these hydrogen fueling stations lying around gathering dust.

    Meanwhile, back in reality:
General Motors reps say building a hydrogen fueling station infrastructure wouldn't be as difficult as some might think; they say the initial investment of about $10 billion to $15 billion required to put 12,000 stations within two miles of the top 100 urban areas is close to the amount of money being currently spent on maintaining existing oil pipelines and gasoline manufacturing equipment.

I don't live near a top 100 urban area. So I won't be buying one.

I wonder what environmental impact this "Vast array" would have?

    :eusa_whistle:

I'm certain the Sierra Club should be concerned.

At the present time, hydrogen fuel is just another level of complexity not needed, as the EV's are off to an excellent start, and much longer range batteries are already being produced in the lab.

I think that the idea of using solar to produce hydrogen, then generating electricity with that during off hours, and peak demand, is an excellent idea, and very doable.

Why don't you just buy a hydrogen kit for your car and do it yourself?

HHO Kits, HHO Gas Systems, Fuel Savers, Car Kit, Hydrogen Generator

What do mean "Where are the Hydrogen Charging Stations"? You got tap water at yer house? Do you know where to get Distilled water? Do you know how to distill it yerself?

Oh I see, you wanna' wait, like a typical lazy American, for the Gov't to provide it for you!

I have plans to install one of these systems in my 1995 Ford Escort and gauge the results.
