Huawei CFO Arrested in Canada for Extradition to US

Unspecified charges? Wtf? :eusa_naughty:
Huawei CFO extradition order was an independent act by the DOJ: Peter Navarro

"Wanzhou ,46, was arrested by Canadian authorities as part of an U.S. investigation into an alleged scheme by Huawei to use a global banking institution to make illegal transactions involving Iran, Reuters reported.

:An overseer at HSBC Holdings flagged the suspicious transactions by the world’s largest telecom company.

"The arrest of the Huawei CFO fueled trade concerns with a Chinese state-run newspaper claiming its 'declaration of war.'

"Navarro said the 90-day tariff truce between the world's two largest economies remains strong.

"'Is China going to follow through on all the structural changes it needs to make in order for them to be a good member of the international trading society? It remains to be seen,' he said."

National Security Threat?

Whoever ordered that arrest at the DOJ needs to hang for treason. This is serious business.

Huawei phones suck, but I guess they're adequate, and they do compete with Apple and Samsung, thereby lowering phone prices.

Huawei's CFO would be a valuable hostage in a trade war?

Everything We Know About the Arrest of Huawei’s CFO

"Despite the contentious arrest, Chinese officials still appear to be optimistic about the outcome of the negotiations.

"China’s Commerce Ministry said Thursday that it is confident that Trump and Xi will be able to reach an agreement before the truce ends.

"However, reports suggest that Chinese officials are likely to believe that Meng was taken as a hostage in the trade war and are questioning whether the U.S. is negotiating in good faith.

"CNN reports that the Trump administration is seeking extradition of Meng, and that some officials believe she could be used as leverage.

"The Economist notes that the U.S. will have to maintain the brittle truce while also assuaging the aggravated Chinese and extracting concessions.

"The U.S. had been scheduled on January 1 to raise tariffs from 10 percent to 25 percent on $200 billion of goods imported from China, a plan that Xi averted by reaching the truce at G20 summit.

"Trump has previously stated that he is willing to impose a 10 or 25 percent tariff on the rest of the $267 billion of Chinese imports if the negotiations do no turn out favorably for the U.S."

Trump's trying to make a good deal for us, I like that. I think somebody in the DOJ pulled that stunt to hamper negotiations.

IE: A traitorous move. Hang them for America to see and maybe the next douchebag will think twice.

"Meng Wanzhou, chief financial officer of Chinese telecoms giant Huawei, is facing fraud charges relating to alleged breaking of US sanctions on Iran, a Canadian court has heard...."

"On Friday, the Supreme Court of British Columbia was told that Ms Meng had used a Huawei subsidiary called Skycom to evade sanctions on Iran between 2009 and 2014.

"They said she had publicly misrepresented Skycom as being a separate company.

"Ms Meng faces up to 30 years in prison in the US if found guilty of the charges, the court heard.

"Court reporters said she was not handcuffed for the hearing and was wearing a green sweatsuit."

Huawei executive faces Iran fraud charges

Personally, I'm all in favor of filling US prisons with white collar criminals.

Means this now every citizen of Europe - and nearly every other place of the world - is in danger to be arrested in Canada, because the USA made sanctions against the Iran after the USA had cancelled the nuclear deal with the Iran (without any concrete reason to have to do so, because the Iran made nothing except to fulfill the conditions of this nuclear deal)?
