How will the chinese chose the sound picture for Ben?

Chinese have four different ways of pronouncing vowels. Flat tone, rising tone, sinking tone etc.

One way of pronouncing Ben means mountain peak. That would be cool. The trouble is sinking tone means very stupid. Not cool at all

It depends more on the social circle its used in. Take the word Chi-Ku in upper crust it means "eat bitters" but lower level it means eat sh8t.

So it depends more on WHO is saying it then what is said.
