A regular nuclear bomb detonated 250 miles up will lay down 50 kV/m at ground level = 6.6 megawatts/m

A Nuclear Super-EMP detonated 300 miles up will lay down 200+ kV/m at ground level = 27 megawatts/m. It will take down the grid, aircraft, vehicles, meltdown nuclear power plants & electronics coast to coast.

There are non-nuclear EMP weapons that can lay down up to 300 kV/m at ground level = 40 megawatts/m. It will take down the grid, aircraft, vehicles & electronics.
