YET ANOTHER PALESTINIAN VILLAGE TO BE ERASED BY ZION

Historical village perched in Jerusalem’s hills may soon vanish

Lifta residents protest government plans to build villas, hotels, in historical village.

A small but picturesque village on Jerusalem’s hillside may soon be transformed forever.

Lifta, an historic village in a bucolic spot at the entrance to Jerusalem, is at the center of a preservation fight over an Israeli plan to build villas there.

The village, located on the outskirts of Jerusalem, is on a tentative list of UNESCO World Heritage sites, and the World Monuments Fund organization has put it on its list of sites under threat.

Lifta (Flash 90)

Any lurkers over here trying to figure out what is going on here, please read through this short thread (You want a solution?) and see for yourself how the zionists pretend that this issue involves building permits. And then ask yourself who takes over peoples land, builds military bases, and then claims that anyone who they wish ethnically cleansed does not have the correct permit to own their homes.

I can't wait to see it replaced with a high-rise full of affluent Israelis.

How can you say such things? Because you're anonymous on the internet?

The same reason you can rant about Jews without getting fired from your job or punched in the face. All anti-Semites are anonymous these days. Sad, ineffectual little creatures who can never vent their frustrations anywhere but from a keyboard in a dimly lit room.

But, in fact, Israel is a beautiful, modern, and affluent nation and there is no place for run-down, squalid ruins.

Yeah, it's my antisemitism and you punch Jewish women in the face. Thanks for all your help here.

So what is your point? That historic villages must never be built up or improved? That ancient historic villages must be kept preserved intact for their residents the way they were in ancient times? No water? No electricity? No sewage or garbage disposal?

Having looked up Lifta on the Internet, it seems that the village is abandoned and a ghost town, devoid of residents. So no one will be displaced as a result of rebuilding.

The population had already been displaced, " Lifta was the last remaining Arab village that was depopulated to have not been either completely destroyed or re-inhabited"

Whoa right there for a minute.

HISTORICAL palestinian village ???????

There was NO such thing as a palestinian people until an Egyptian claimed to be a palestinian and invented a people of palesting somewhere in ?

Well lets look at how long the area was considered Greater Syria.
Oh hey, right up until about 1920

The term palestinian was invented in about 1967 with the failure of the war and Arafat responded by inventing the PLO which was just about the first use of the term palestinian to refer to a people. However inaccurately.

So

can we define "HISTORICAL" again.

Cheers

It is definitely an historical village. Its the "Palestinian" part which is nomenclature meant to confuse and elicit an emotional response. In particular, its intended to illicit sympathy for Arabs, even though Arabs are only one group affected by the events which make up the history of the village. The village has roots back to Hebrew times. Which means it was a Jewish village at its origin.
