The Pentagon is ramping up intelligence-gathering in Libya as the Obama administration draws up plans to open a third front in the war against the Islamic State. Are we doing something just to be seen as doing something? Is there a strategy other than piss away ammo at random targets of opportunity......

Reagan scared the peculiar Libyan dictator so badly with a couple of surgical missile strikes that Quadaffi was no longer a threat to anyone in the area or the U.S. for decades. Apparently the the voices in Obama's head (and the CIA?) decided that an unstable Libya would be in the interest of U.S security so the CIA allegedly funded an insurrection that led to the muslem brotherhood takeover. Now we are back to square one with the negligent former Secy/State who was complicent in the original muslem takeover apparently promoting a war to undo it.
