It why all my life I've laughed at the NRA and folks who think of keeping weapons for the purpose of overthrowing the government. They didn't even talk about their cruise missles and nukes.

Don't misunderstand me. I have a .30 .30 Marlin rifle, a long barreled Remington semi auto 12 gauge and a S&W .38 revolver. I like my guns but I'm smarter than to ever consider using them against the U S government.

I guess it's a matter of perspective. If I watch the news and see armored tanks running over people in the streets, I would want an alternative.

If there were warring factions of people hell bent to destroy one another, I would want some kind of authority to take them out, just not permanently. Are we looking at possible mayhem here in the states? I would certainly hope not. But I would want preparations for the worst case scenario.

The US is still free and the very best country available. But even here there is talk of revolutions. We have the "99%" talking about violence against the 1%. You heard the tape on the forum the other day. Going after private families at their homes, "fun and crazy stuff worth taking the risk..."

Yes, the US is the land of the free. Perhaps those awful tactical weapons will help it stay that way. You can treat a burn, but not a death.

I worked in the uranium processing plants at Oak Ridge for 41 years. Oak Ridge has the largest storage facility of fissionable material in the world. Believe would be a lot more than six times.

LOL Did you think people would come from their houses and pick out some spiffy uniforms and meet division to division. If any conflict arises it will be a gorilla war. How much support will the people give the government carpet bombing there own cities?

It's just the number of military bases the United States has. More than likely no more than 600 of them overseas. The second world war has been over for 66 years but we have hundreds of bases in Germany and Japan...folla'?

The war in Korea has been over for 58 years but we have 75,000 troops there...folla'?

WE should get our asses out of the middle eastern oil countries where we have maintained a presence all of my life.

How would you feel if there were foreign troops in Texas and California?
